There were about 75 shareholders at the Annual General Meeting of Galliford Try Plc on the 19th November 2013, at the offices of RBS in Bishopsgate in the City of London. This was more than I expected for this size of company. It seems they have a loyal shareholder base. I spoke to non-executive director Peter Rogers over a cup of tea before the meeting started, and discussed a few issues which are covered later. I also asked him why non-executive directors have contracts with 6 months notice (see page 59 of the Annual Report) which is surely excessive. But he did not seem to be aware of it.
