I attended the Annual General Meeting of Diploma PLC (DPLM) on the 20th January in the City of London at 12.00 am. Diploma is a fully listed company with a market cap of about £760m and revenue of £333m last year. It produces and sells a range of specialist technical products. Historically it has obtained good growth from both acquisitions and organic growth. It seems to acquire typically small/medium private companies where the owners wish to sell, which are complementary to their existing businesses and which have good profit margins. There were about 20 shareholders present at the AGM, which is the first one I have attended of this company.
