Diageo Plc held their Annual General Meeting at the Mermaid Conference Centre in London on the 23rd September. One wonders if Diageo had been listening too much to its own hype on its environmental / social and third world economic policies, as the 300 plus shareholders present were treated to a video while we were waiting for the AGM to start talking up Diageo’s charitable works, but nothing of any financial content. This was to set the tone for the rest of the meeting, a lot of fluff to keep the pensioners happy, but not much in the way of substance, therefore making the AGM a rather tedious affair. We started with the Chairman, Dr Humer introducing the board, plus highlighting board changes with Laurence Danon leaving and Emma Walmsley
