IDOX, a software company that specialises in document management in the local authority and engineering sectors, held its AGM in London today – at the rather inconvenient time of 10.00 am. That might explain why they only got 4 shareholders present, and why I had not attended their AGMs in previous years (I have been a shareholder for some time and can’t complain about the recent share price performance). The meeting opened with questions. I asked about the trend to service based contracts and away from “one-time” license sales (see p.7 of the Annual Report). Although this improves recurring revenue, and hence gives more revenue stability, I have seen this have a very negative impact short term in other companies.
