Yesterday I attended the annual general meeting of Mondi Plc at the Haberdashers Hall, central London. Mondi Plc is an integrated packaging and paper Group with a dual listed company structure – primary listing on the JSE Ltd and premium listing on the LSE. Using a video link the two AGM’s were held simultaneously in the two countries. Mondi Plc had released a rather downbeat trading update that morning stating volumes were up but that inflationary cost pressures and lower forestry value gain had constricted profit growth, while selling prices were, on average lower than the same period last year.
