The Annual General Meeting of St Ives (SIV) was held today in their offices in the City of London at 11.00 am. There were less than 20 shareholders present and the board only arrived in the meeting room at the last minute, so in the meantime I chatted to someone from their Remuneration Consultants (New Bridge Street). I gave him my opinions on remuneration at this company, see later, and we discussed BG Group (and the rumpus of new CEO Helge Lund's pay which ShareSoc will be making some public comments on very soon probably using such words as "outrageous") and the general problem of controlling pay. Incidentally I joked that I was only a shareholder in BG Group "virtually". This comment arose from a problem I had with Youinvest
