The AGM at the RAC on 21 July was well attended; there is a good lunch. The formal part of the business was over in about 17 minutes after which the Manager, Marcus Phayre-Mudge, made his generally optimistic presentation. The Chairman stopped questions dead on 1 pm even though the lady with the mike was standing at my side ready for me to ask my question. Following my correspondence with her last year (reported in Informer) I asked the Chairman why the Board believed that the managers’ performance would not be as good without a performance fee, pointing out that they had paid over £20 million in performance fees over the last three years on top of over £14 million in regular fees.
