ShareSoc/Hardman & Co Investor Forum Leeds

ShareSoc would like to invite you to a private investor’s forum and networking event in Leeds on Tuesday May 20th, 2014, from 5.30 until 9pm. Registration is from 5pm. This event will give you the opportunity to network with other investors and to listen to short presentations from the management of three listed companies, Avacta, Getech and Ideagen, where we think there is an interesting investment case.

The event is being held in partnership with Hardman & Co, an investment advisory and research firm. We hope ShareSoc members will support this event which is the first one we have held in the North of England. It will also give you the opportunity to meet with other ShareSoc members and some of our directors.

This event will be held in the Boardroom of the Malmaison Hotel, 1 Swinegate, Leeds, a short walk from Leeds station.

The companies presenting are as follows:

• Avacta Group is engaged in research, development, production and delivery of instrumentation and services for the biopharmaceutical drug development and clinical diagnostics markets using biophysical technology. Drugs are expensive to develop, most don’t reach the patient and those that do are often prohibitively costly. Avacta provides life scientists with proprietary, disruptive new tools, in the forms of technology and reagents, to enable them to work faster and smarter towards improvements to global healthcare, potentially saving millions in the process and making drugs cheaper for patients.
• Getech Group provides gravity and magnetic data, services and geological studies to the petroleum and mining industries to assist in their exploration activities. As the easy deposits have been exploited explorers have had to use increasingly sophisticated methods to find oil and mineral resources; Getech provides the solution.
• Ideagen is a supplier of compliance based Information Management software with operations in the UK and the United States. It specialises in information management solutions for organisations that generally operate within industries that are subject to high regulatory standards and enables organisations to meet their Regulatory and Quality Compliance standards, helping them to reduce costs and improve efficiency. Sales have grown exponentially since foundation and last year grew by more than 60%.

  Each presentation will last approximately 20 minutes, followed by a brief opportunity for Q&A, and the formalities will be followed by drinks and canapés.
