SIGnet Investors Network Launches New ‘One Planet’ Investing Group

SIGnet is excited to announce the launch of a new in-person group for those interested in the opportunities created by sustainable investing.

An online meeting has been arranged to launch the group and this will take place at 6.30 pm on Monday 2nd December.  The Group will meet face-to-face in Central London every two months.

The SIGnet One Planet Group will focus on a universe of companies that are expected to prosper as the world transitions to a one planet economy. The group will seek out businesses with a strong competitive edge. Investors of all levels of experience are welcome to join.

By way of background, The World Counts estimates that we currently need about 1.75 planets to provide the resources for our consumption and absorb our waste and that by 2030, we will need 2 planets!

There is a political and social shift urging us to change to a more sustainable economy. Companies that are ahead of this curve and already have a more sustainable outlook may benefit from a tailwind to their business and share performance.

The Convener for this new Group will be John Gilbert. John was joint founder and owner of a successful engineering company. He is a Chartered Accountant, a business graduate and holds a degree in ecology. He has been investing for over 30 years in a tightly curated portfolio of businesses that he knows well with, in his judgement, compelling long-term prospects and a low downside risk.

You are invited: to an initial online launch meeting to hear more about the group, meet other investors, and confirm the details of future group meetings. The launch meeting will be held on Zoom at 6:30pm on 2nd December and is expected to last approximately 90 minutes. It is open to anyone with an interest in our new group, but you will need to join SIGnet (if not already a member) to attend subsequent meetings. Go here for further details and to register your attendance.

SIGnet groups are for: discussion about shares and investing. SIGnet groups offer an opportunity to meet, socialise with and learn from fellow investors.

SIGnet groups are NOT for: promotion of any financial products or services. They are run by their members for their members’ mutual exchange of knowledge and enjoyment.
